The Healthcare Industry Supply Chain Institute (HISCI)

The Healthcare Industry Supply Chain Institute (HISCI) is a cooperation association that introduces the entire healthcare supply chain, inclusively of suppliers, manufacturers, and group purchasing establishments. One of such establishments is Canadian Health&Care Mall. HISCI's objection is to achieve a "performance enhancement", devoted to enhancing and strengthening effectiveness within the healthcare supply chain through best practice sharing, education and cooperation.

Ultrasound for Monitoring Chronic Diseases: A Patient-Centered Approach

Understanding Ultrasound Technology in Chronic Disease Management Ultrasound technology, also known as sonography, is a diagnostic medical procedure that utilizes high-frequency sound waves to produce dynamic visual images of organs, tissues, or blood flow inside the body. Unlike other imaging modalities like X-rays or CT scans, ultrasound is non-invasive, does not expose patients to ionizing […]

New Developments in Ultrasound Contrast Agents

Overview of Ultrasound Contrast Agents Ultrasound contrast agents have revolutionized the field of medical imaging, providing a means to enhance the contrast and detail of ultrasound scans. The journey of these agents began with the development of gas-filled microbubbles, which were first introduced in the late 20th century. These early agents were simple in design, […]

Transcranial Doppler Ultrasound: Exploring Brain Vascular Health

Understanding Transcranial Doppler Ultrasound (TCD): The Basics Transcranial Doppler ultrasound (TCD) is a non-invasive diagnostic tool that has revolutionized the assessment of cerebral vascular health. By harnessing the power of ultrasound technology, TCD measures blood flow velocity in the major intracranial arteries, providing critical insights into the brain’s blood supply without exposing patients to the […]

Understanding Ultrasound Imaging: Basics for Beginners

Overview of Ultrasound Imaging Ultrasound imaging, also known as sonography, is a non-invasive diagnostic medical procedure that has revolutionized the way we visualize the inner workings of the human body. Unlike other imaging techniques, ultrasound harnesses the power of high-frequency sound waves to create dynamic visual images of organs, tissues, or blood flow within the […]

The Practicality of Handheld Ultrasound Devices in Clinical Practice

Overview of Handheld Ultrasound Devices Handheld ultrasound devices represent a significant leap forward in medical imaging technology. These compact, portable devices have revolutionized the way healthcare professionals approach diagnostic imaging, offering a level of accessibility and convenience that traditional, larger ultrasound machines cannot match. Defining Handheld Ultrasound Devices Handheld ultrasound devices, also known as point-of-care […]

Enhancing Emergency Medical Services with Portable Ultrasound

Introduction to Portable Ultrasound in EMS In the fast-paced world of Emergency Medical Services (EMS), the ability to make accurate and timely diagnoses is paramount. The field is fraught with challenges, from the unpredictable nature of emergencies to the limitations of diagnostic tools available in the prehospital environment. Traditional methods often rely on physical examination […]

Ultrasound in Oncology: Early Detection and Monitoring

Overview of Ultrasound Technology in Oncology Ultrasound technology, a cornerstone of modern medical diagnostics, operates on the principle of using high-frequency sound waves to produce images of the body’s internal structures. Unlike ionizing radiation, which is used in X-rays and CT scans, ultrasound waves are non-invasive and safe, making them an ideal choice for repeated […]

Beyond Imaging: Therapeutic Applications of Ultrasound in Medicine

Overview of Ultrasound Technology Ultrasound technology, a cornerstone of modern medical diagnostics, operates on the fundamental principles of sound wave propagation and reflection. At its core, ultrasound imaging relies on the transmission of high-frequency sound waves into the body, which then bounce off internal structures and return as echoes. These echoes are captured by a […]
